Incredible movie. I disagree on one major point.. the theme is not that you never know if you made the right decision and so keep experimenting .... in her case she never MADE a decision. She just ran to the next thing because she lacked self-awareness and did not actually want the responsibility of her flings, romantic and otherwise. In other words, she is selfish. And worst of all, you get the sense she might never do that, which would be tragic. Life is not really lived until you commit. Those who keep experimenting without commitment their whole life really never lived at all. A lot of young people won't want to hear that, but it's true.

I watched the film today and I felt the female lead "Julie" is very relatatble and close to reality and the flow of the scenes showing her exploration of careers and men is very smooth and melancholic. Adding to this is the absolutely scenic, colorful, calm and beautiful Norway shown in the film feels like exploring the country. At the end I couldn't stop crying, the conversations with her ex Aksel and spending with him during his last days and the relation with eidvind she shared. My favorite scne is the Hospital conversation of Julie and Aksel cuddled in the hospital bed is the most beautiful one I've seen in the films. That stop of surroundings around her is an another intresting aspect of showing what she actually wants. Totally in love with the actress who played Julie. It's like every girl out there is somewhat or atleast share some aspects of Julie. The whole fim felt like of reflection of everyday life a girl/boy that we have heard or experienced.😁

I related strongly to her desire to make the "right decision". She often chased and faced some consequences, where I often stayed and faced different ones. Who made the right decision? It's entirely up to who's judging, and on what criteria.

Those who chase keep an inner spark but can become difficult, uncooperative people, and those who stay may learn to become better communicators, or quietly resentful to everyone they feel stuck with. There's a thousand comparisons like this you can make.

I've experienced so much media that tries making this same point, but the one that finally broke through to me was a Kurt Vonnegut short essay, "Shapes of Stories", years after seeing this movie. What he says about Hamlet (IMO) is one of the same things this movie says.

Julie is such a human in her 20s. Deciding what she wants and doesn't want and then getting conflicted over it all, the overarching question being what does it even mean to want a thing or a person. This is displayed so 'breezy yet carefully' in the film - her not wanting a baby but then getting pregnant with the guy who didn't want kids, the trauma of a dismissive father playing into loving a much older man, wanting to cheat despite being in a happy relationship, and finally, the absolute truth of how death can strike without you having figured out what life is about.

That's all I have. I spent my life doing that, collecting all that stuff, comics, books...And... I just continued,
even when it stopped giving me the powerful emotions I felt in my early twenties, I continued anyway.
And... now it's all I have left, Knowledge and memories of stupid, futile things nobody cares about.

In recent years. I reached a point in life when suddenly...It just happened. When...I began to worship what had been.
And now I have nothing else. I have no future. If I regret one thing, it's that I never managed to make you see how wonderful you are.
I wasted so much time worrying about what could go wrong, but what did go wrong, was never the things I worried about.

You were the most important relationship in my life. You don't have to say anything. I know it's not the same for you.
That's normal.

But I know, I feel it. And I want you to know. You were the love of my life.

I loved this film so much and you did this so much justice, you helped me understand why I loved it so much and you also opened my eyes at what is going so wrong for me at the moment... decision paralysis is the death of life.
